The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning has recognized inadequate waste management as one of the most serious threats to environment in Serbia. Problems arise from poorly developed infrastructure as well as from bad habits and insufficient care for the environment.

The Golija National Park Cleanup Underway

"Let's Clean up Serbia" campaign continues by clean up activities in the Nature Park Golija, more precisely in the area surrounding Dajićko Lake. The employees of the public communal company "Srbijašume" cleaned up the excursion site from PET packaging and other litter.

- The Ministry shall not ignore the unlawful behavior in the protected nature parks and reserves. The activities of the Ministry shall be expanded in order to pass necessary laws and bylaws. In addition to these measures the inspections shall be much more frequent. The problem of illegal construction and building in protected nature parks and reserves shall be solved as well as in all other areas protected by the state. Only in this way the rich Serbian nature can be preserved - said Radislav Momirov, the Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
