Minister Oliver Dulić attends the Euromoney Economic Forum in Vienna

bec_euromoneyMinister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulić said that the foreign investors show great interest in investing in infrastructure and environmental protection in Serbia. Dulić, while attending the Euromoney economic forum in Vienna, presented to potential investors the opportunities for investment in road and railway infrastructure along Corridor 10, the River Danube and also in environmental infrastructure.

We are primarily talking about the water treatment plants, regional landfills, recycling industry and investment in renewable energy sources as well as the use of hydropower and biomass, the Minister explained.

According to the Minister, the meetings with the major investors and bankers during the economic forum proved their interest in investing in Serbia. Dulić also expressed the belief that these investors would come to Serbia. He also added that the procedure of issuing building permits in Serbia would be significantly accelerated once the local self-governments had developed spatial and zoning plans.

The Law on planning and construction requires that local self-governments complete their spatial plans by September and their zoning plans by next year. Once the local self-governments have adopted spatial and zoning laws and the problem of the real estate cadastre has been solved, building permits will be issued in a few days or weeks, and not years as is currently the case, Dulić pointed out. He expressed his hope that the city of Belgrade will complete the regulatory plan this spring, after which the procedure of issuing building permits will be considerably sped up.
