Cleanup of the Đerdap National Park
The employees of the public company National Park Đerdap participated today in the third cleanup campaign, this time by cleaning up waste from the Dobra ravine. As a part of the campaign "Let's Clean up Serbia" about 100 people living in local communities Dobra and Brnjica, pupils and teachers from primary school in Dobra and boy scouts from local scout group "Golubac" collected 300 sacks of litter.
In addition to the Danube shoreline cleanup, the company's management shall provide an education program for primary school pupils who live in three neighboring local communities by organizing a workshop on recycling. They shall also put up the exhibition of the best artworks done by the pupils.
The first cleanup campaign was organized on March 9, when a plot of land along the motorway was cleaned up. Members of the hunting societies: "Đerdap" from Sip and "Petrovo selo" from Tekije together with the local inhabitants took part in this campaign. About 100 participants collected 490 sacks of PET packaging and other litter. Recreation resorts along the Đerdap motorway, Tekija beach and walking paths around Tekija, excursion sites like "Hjdučka vodenica", local landfills as well as the section of the Danube shoreline from "Hajdučka česma" to Romanian border crossing were also cleaned up as a part of the mentioned campaign.
The cleanup campaign continued on May 16 by collecting municipal and non-municipal waste along the Danube river bank, the Boljetinska River and the opposite side of the motorway. This time the employees of the public company National Park Đerdap were supported by local inhabitants, pupils from local primary and high schools, IPM Majdanpek employees, members of Association of Occupational Invalids, members of Hunting Society "Đerdap", members of Fishermen's Association KSP "Štuka", local communities Boljetin, Golubinje, Topolnica, Klokocevac, Mosna and members of Hiking Association "Vrh" from Kladovo.
