lacarak1"Let's Clean up Serbia" campaign continues by cleaning up one of the biggest landfills in Serbia situated between Laćark and Martinci. The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulić was present at the commencement of the campaign. While talking with the citizens, the Minister announced introduction of a new universal telephone service that would enable citizens to report incidents of illegal dumping of construction waste and other litter.

- The wild landfill will be cleaned up in about twenty days, and this process will be followed by land recultivation and tree planting. We are very satisfied with the semi-annual results of the campaign "Let's Clean up Serbia". During the first six months of the campaign we employed a large number of people through public works, cleaned up wild landfills on 50 locations, invested between 500 million and 600 million RSD in public works and purchased necessary communal equipment. We decided to solve 30% to 40% of the problems caused by the wild landfills in Serbia - Minister Dulić said.

The wild landfill between Laćarak and Martinci is 25 years old and it covers the surface of 19,000 square meters. It is estimated that there are approximately 15, 000 tons of different wastes in this landfill.
