Around 500 nature admirers from Čačak were cleaning the area by the main road Čačak-Užice from Vavedenje monastery to the dam of hydroelectric power plant in Ovčar Banja, the area by the local road 324 from Ovčar Banja to the Vidovski tunnel on the right bank of the West Morava river, then the discarded plastic packaging gathered in drifts under the dam in Međuvršje, the sport fishing trail along Međuvršje Lake, the area around the campsite and the area in Ovčar Banja, the weekend house area in the gorge as well as parts of the area surrounding Lake Međuvršje.

The cleaned-up area is 10 kilometers long and 200 hectares wide. PET packaging was removed and selected for recycling purposes, as well as other plastic packaging, bags, car tyres, parts of technical devices, furniture, metal objects, paper, organic waste and glass.

This action shall soon be repeated because of the great quantity of plastic and other waste found on West Morava river bank and around the lakes of two hydroelectric power plants.
