Anniversary of Avala Tower Reconstruction

Avala Tower and Ada Bridge are among the most famous architectural masterpieces in Serbia and also the most visited tourist destinations in Belgrade, said the Minister of environment, mining and spatial planning, Mr Oliver Dulić on the occasion of the first anniversary celebration of the opening of this famous landmark.

- Several major buildings that will represent outstanding architectural, engineering and technological accomplishments are currently being constructed in Serbia. These buildings are the result of our national intelligence and knowledge. Avala Tower itself is equipped with several outstanding technological systems, such as its modern power supply system - said Minister Dulić.

The Minister said that Avala Tower is being adequately maintained, which contributes to the regular cleaning and maintenance of Avala Mountain.

- From its opening in April, 2010, Avala Tower has been visited by 220 thousand people, and currently the preparations are underway for the upcoming tourist season in order to offer attractive and memorable tourism related products and services to visitors - said the director of the Public Company "Emisiona tehnika"  Vladimir Homan.

The Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning was one of the main stakeholders concerning the construction of Avala Tower. On Monday, 25th of April, the tennis players who compete in the Serbian Open will visit the Tower. In addition, the Public Company "Emisiona tehnika" announced the public invitation to tender for the lease of the Tower's coffee-bar situated at a height of 119 meters, as well as other restaurants and business space on the plateau of the tower.
